View from my room

You guys must be wondering how’s my accommodation are like here right? Well I get to have a room to myself and loads of privacy incase i feel like dancing =) Yes, my deep dark secret is I love music. Music is soul! As I was sayin, I got a room to myself, along with it a computer/study desk where I put my laptop, toys from home, and some gifts people gave to me to remember them. 2 cupboards for my clothes, shoes, bag, and my under garments. A small sink and a mirror to check myself out, I look like James Brown in the morning.

Every room is the same, but just the difference in sizes, 1 house consist of 9 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 living/dining area, 1 washing machine & a dryer. Yes, kitchen equipments like toaster, rice cooker, microwave, oven, and the normal pots and pans. But this stuff doesn’t come cheap, I pay rent RM1.2k a month. Inclusive of water bill, electrical bill & internet access. But, we get free transport here to anywhere in the city on certain days, say for movies, shopping, or just events that are happening around. We also need to buy our own stuff to cook or take out. Overall it’s a fully monitored area with security.

Campus is just 10 minutes walk max to reach it, and so is the town center. By the way the place I’m stayin has the worse crime rate in the country, it’s like the ghetto over here and gets really bad after 7pm, so unless I have a car which I don’t I won’t get to go out!!! But I guess it gets me to my books more, in a good way. Here in the MIT Student village we have a Resident Manager who manages the people who comes and goes.

A common room where we get Sky TV (Something like Astro) , computers, pool tables, ping-pong table, and a vending machines. Outside the common room we got space to play basketball which I play a few rounds everyday when I get the chance and soccer at the small field. The gym & pool are located near the MIT South Campus where its free for the students and locals, everyone here really takes good care of their body, even my engineering head of program Ian Huttelsworth.

She was the Greatest

The Dass family, huge family of more than 50+ people easily, We’re bound to have a few conflicts in opinions but hey, that’s what family is all about. What we should & what not to do, fights and bad gestures were the typical family drama, sometimes matters get way out of hand and we lose control. But we rise to the occasion and stick together.

Forgive me if you think otherwise but in my personal up-bringing, I celebrate life. To remember what our loved one did for us and to appreciate their sacrifice. To me when we celebrated Christmas on the year my Granny passed away, felt like it was the right way. We suffered a great lost and that green slime that kept the Dass family together every time.

To celebrate doesn’t always means to par-tay and have fun, this celebration was mostly remembrance of what we had learned from, the tips in life, the advice, the skills, and mostly the love we once had. I think what we fear most in our mind is we might lose those memories, how she was, how she looked like. I fear of losing her forever, but in fact she’s always in my heart.

I bounced back way greater than anybody would, that Christmas I hoped for the best and used positive thoughts to get me up. Why? Simply because Granny thought me so. Look to God, read the bible, and know that He will always remind me shes in a better place.

Instead of living in sadness and in dark, I decided to let the “light” shine in honor of Granny because she thought me to be strong & move on in life. I’d be a shame if I didn’t live up to her wishes.
